9 Days Northern Circuit Kilimanjaro Joining Group

Day 1 – Lemosho Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp

After registration, begin your trek through the lush rainforest on a quiet trail. The forest is rich with wildlife, and you may spot monkeys and hear birds along the way. Arrive at Mti Mkubwa Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 2 – Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira Camp 1

Leave the rainforest behind and enter the moorland zone with open views. The trail gradually climbs, offering beautiful scenery and a sense of remoteness. Arrive at Shira Camp 1 for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 – Shira Camp 1 to Shira Camp 2

Continue trekking across the Shira Plateau, enjoying wide panoramic views. The landscape becomes more dramatic as you gain altitude. Arrive at Shira Camp 2 for dinner and overnight.

Day 4 – Shira Camp 2 to Lava Tower to Moir Hut

Trek toward Lava Tower to gain altitude and improve acclimatization. After reaching higher elevation, continue toward Moir Hut on the northern side of the mountain. This quieter area offers stunning views and fewer trekkers.

Day 5 – Moir Hut to Buffalo Camp

Continue along the northern circuit, far from the busy southern routes. The trail offers breathtaking views of the plains below and a real sense of wilderness. Arrive at Buffalo Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 6 – Buffalo Camp to Third Cave Camp

Trek across remote and scenic terrain with views of the Kenyan side of Kilimanjaro. This part of the route is less crowded and very peaceful. Arrive at Third Cave Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 7 – Third Cave Camp to School Hut

Continue your trek toward School Hut, the base for your summit attempt. The landscape becomes more rugged and high-altitude conditions are more noticeable. After arrival, rest, have an early dinner, and prepare for the midnight climb.

Day 8 – School Hut to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp

Begin your summit attempt around midnight, trekking steadily toward Uhuru Peak. Reaching the summit is a once-in-a-lifetime achievement, offering incredible views from the highest point in Africa. After celebrating, descend to Mweka Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 9 – Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate

After breakfast, descend through the rainforest to the gate. Enjoy the final part of your journey as you leave the mountain behind. Receive your summit certificates before departure.
