10-Day Northern Circuit Route – Mount Kilimanjaro
The 10-day Northern Circuit Route is the longest and one of the most scenic ways to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. Known for its excellent acclimatization profile and low traffic, this route offers a high success rate while giving you a truly remote wilderness experience. You will trek through diverse landscapes from lush rainforest to alpine desert while enjoying breathtaking panoramic views from all sides of the mountain.
This route begins on the western side at Londorossi Gate and follows the Lemosho trail before branching off along the quiet northern slopes. Unlike other routes, the Northern Circuit circles around the mountain, offering unique perspectives and fewer crowds. The gradual ascent allows your body to adjust properly to the altitude, making it ideal for climbers seeking a safer and more comfortable summit experience.
During the trek, you’ll pass through stunning terrains including Shira Plateau, lava towers, and remote valleys rarely seen by other trekkers. Wildlife sightings are also more common at the beginning of the route. Summit night takes you to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa, where you’ll witness an unforgettable sunrise above the clouds.
This adventure is perfect for those who want a longer, less crowded, and more immersive Kilimanjaro climb with the highest chance of reaching the summit.
